Quit Smoking
Most people know all the negatives about smoking and I guess that there is nothing more negative than DYING from lung cancer! But because we all think that we are immortal, (especially when we are young) and believe that bad things may happen to others but will never happen to us! Much more than fear motivation is needed to get us to quit this terribly addictive habit that makes us feel so cool!
So we will talk only about the positive reasons for giving up the weed, that is how I convinced myself to quit once and for all over 18 years ago.
I was a heavy smoker by most standards, a pack a day, and sometimes two, especially during a drinking session!
However I was convinced that because I was a runner, that smoking would have little if any effect on my health, I also thought that I really enjoyed smoking, so why should I give up?
Some of my closest friends were non-smokers, I felt really bad lighting up in their company. Most of the successful people I knew seemed to be non-smokers especially sports people, so it seemed that most of the people that I wanted to identify with actually frowned on my addiction. Maybe these people knew something that I didn’t! One thing for sure they all seemed a lot more relaxed than I was, strange, I thought smoking was supposed to relax me! Somewhere deep inside of me was an uneasy feeling, I was being controlled by something that I could not live without, I had to carry this little box containing the weeds and fire making equipment everywhere I went, behind this control was some multi-national corporation making scullions of dollars from me and others like me, and every time I lit up the tax man was laughing at me, as if I didn’t look stupid enough with that little white smoking stick hanging from my gob!
Enough, enough, now I needed to find all the positive reasons to quit. I didn’t have to look far! My wallet was the first place that I looked even 1 pack per day was going to save me the equivalent of £28 per week, £121 per month or £1456 per year WOW think of what else I could do with all that extra cash in my pocket!
I started asking others who had quit what benefits they discovered when they quit, after a couple of weeks I had compiled a really good list!
1) Save money, loads of it!
2) Food will taste better, I love food!
3) Sense of smell will be better (good and bad, some smells are not really enjoyable) especially the smell of ash trays!
4) Better SEX (a big enough reason on it own to quit)
5) More energy!
6) The little cough and the constant clearing of the throat will quickly disappear.
7) More enjoyment of beer and wine and no hangover if I drank one or two over the odds!
8) More opportunities for work!
9) More opportunities for love!
10) FREEDOM ! (free from the control of the weed and its manufacturers, sellers and taxes!
You will quit easily if you follow my plan, read my book and find out how you can achieve what I have! click here for more information about how to stop smoking for life!
